William Robert “Bob” VanSickle, age 88 of Logan, Ohio passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at The Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio.
Born February 15, 1933 in Logan, he was the son of the late Albert Edward and Bessie Mae (Johnson) VanSickle.
Bob was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of VanSickle Construction. He was a former member of Kline Memorial United Methodist Church in Enterprise, Ohio. Bob loved to travel and camp and was able to visit all 48 states and Alaska. He loved water skiing and all animals – especially dogs. Bob took the most pride in making sure his family was always taken care of.
Bob is survived by the love of his life and wife of 68 years, Vera Fern (Huber) VanSickle; two sons, Robert “Bobby” Bryan (Carol) VanSickle and Charles “Chucky” Edwin (Dyan) VanSickle, both of Logan; two daughters, Ruth Anne VanSickle of Logan and Susan (Charlie) Mansfield of Pomeroy, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; one sister, Kathryn Louise Nixon of Logan; brother-in-law and special friend Larry Nash; sister-in-law Sherry Huber; and very special friends Tim and Lynn Blair.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Edward VanSickle; sisters-in-law Patricia VanSickle, Betty Nash, and Louise Huber; and brothers-in-law Russell and Rolland Huber.
There will be no services at this time per Bob’s wishes. His final resting place will be in Grandview Cemetery in Bremen, Ohio.
