Willis Dicken

Willis Dicken, aged 84 of Logan, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Embassy of Logan, Ohio.

Born April 17, 1939 in Logan, Ohio, he was the son of the late Marvin and Sarepta Maye (Easterling) Dicken.

Willis worked as a barber at Dicken’s Barber Shop in Logan, Ohio. He was an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Logan, Ohio. A devoted Freemason, he was a member of Logan Mingo Lodge #171, Logan Chapter #75, Hock-Hocking Council #39, Logan Commandery #78, Knight of the York Cross of Honor Priory #18, the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, and was an Aladdin Shriner. Willis was the longtime scorekeeper and announcer for Logan Chieftains football and basketball. He also served as the director of the Variety Show and was a member of the Jaycees.

Willis is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Harriett Genevieve (Cottrill) Dicken; daughters, Robin R. (Rodney L.) Carr of Logan, Ohio and Rachel R. (Keith W.) Leffler of Logan, Ohio; son, Douglas J. (Christi) Dicken of Jackson, Ohio; grandchildren, Alexander Hubbard, Mackenzie (Austin) Russell, Courtney (Owen Manning) Hattle, Samuel (Maxeen Ramlo) Carr, Laura (Maxim Perel) Leffler, Lucy (Roni Clark) Leffler, and Logan Leffler; great-grandchild, Ryker Russell; sisters, Barbara Jo Brown of Logan, Ohio, and Quinnette (Paul) Allender of Logan, Ohio; and brother, Carl (Carla) Dicken of Logan, Ohio.

Besides his parents, Willis was preceded in death by his son, David James Dicken; brother, Lawrence Dicken; sister, Jane Adams; and two brothers-in-law, James Adams and Paul Brown.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church in Logan, Ohio officiated by Reverend Lawrence R. Hoffman and Pastor Jeff Ott. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan, Ohio.

Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio where a Masonic Service will take place at 7:30 PM. Visitation will also be held from 11 AM until time of service at the First Presbyterian Church on Friday, January 5, 2024.
